We’re elated that Lee Pivnik is the third commissioned artist of Commissioner Season Five. A multidisciplinary artist living and working in Miami, Lee is a fourth-generation South Floridian deeply inspired by living systems and other species.

A multidisciplinary artist living and working in Miami, Lee is a fourth-generation South Floridian deeply inspired by living systems and other species. Permeating his practice is the idea of entanglement. Through touching, mutating, and collaborative relationships between species and landscapes, worlds of decay and degradation or verdant flourishing arise. Lee’s drawings, sculptures, and installations share this relational quality, referencing fungal networks, epiphytic plants, and emergent animal architectures that inhabit South Florida.
