Join us for How to Be Great: On Production & Potentiality, a performative lecture by multidisciplinary artist A.G. that explores the alchemy of anticipation, nerves, and hope and how it relates to the smaller performative actions that make up our everyday lives. RSVP here.

On Thursday, June 8 at 6 PM, meet us in the majestic lobby of the at The Wolfsonian for a brief tour of the sensational Street Shrines by Roberto Lugo exhibition. Feature presentation How to Be Great: On Production & Potentiality by A.G. will follow, along with a signing of the artist’s limited edition publication, INTERMISSION: a pause & reflection on the theatricality of existence, which has recently been accessioned into the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection. 

Inspired by How to Be Great, multidisciplinary artist and photographer Nicole Combeau will offer community portraits throughout the evening. All guests are invited to participate through intentional, collaborative, and playful portraiture.

A.G. is a Commissioner Season Two artist, living and working between Miami and New York. This initiative is a special collaboration supported by Commissioner, dedicated to providing ongoing and multiple opportunities to alumni artists, its members, and our broader communities. This program is presented in partnership with The Wolfsonian–FIU, New World School of the Arts, and Mitchell Wolfson Sr Foundation.

A.G. solo exhibitions include TALENT at Primary in Miami (2019), INTRO at Artist Curated Projects in Los Angeles (2017), Don't tell someone that you like how they are doing something because they may stop to thank you at Regina Rex in New York City (2016) and Nobody knows me better than you at Locust Projects in Miami (2014). Group exhibitions include The Coffins of Paa Joe and The Pursuit of Happiness at Jack Shainman Gallery, NY, and An Image at Oolite Arts in Miami Beach.

Nicole Combeau is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and photographer based in Miami, Florida. Working between practices such as image making, performance, community organizing, and poetry, Nicole focuses on witnessing life, piecing it together and connecting with others through art.
