Biennale di Venezia
October 7—11, 2026

Join us from October 7—11, 2026, for the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which opens this spring and runs through fall. Titled In Minor Keys, this edition has been poetically shaped by the late visionary curator Koyo Kouoh, delving into “notions like enchantment, seeding, commoning, and generative practices that invite collectivities to emerge organically.”

Kouoh’s work, always tuned to the global and collective frequency, is reflected in this year’s Venice Biennale presentation. In an article for The New York Times, her team member and curator Marie Helene Pereira explained that while “minor keys” in music often evoke strangeness, melancholy, and sorrow, in this context, they embody “joy, solace, hope, and transcendence.”

Since its inception in 1895, the Biennale has become one of the world’s most significant art events, featuring a large-scale group show alongside national pavilions where countries showcase their unique expressions at the Giardini, the Arsenale, and various locations across Venice. Think Olympics of the art world—complete with gondolas, gothic architecture, gelato, and spritz!

We’re excited for Edouard Duval Carrié, Season Seven commissioned artist, and Kennedy Yanko—with whom we interrogated consensus-making last November at NSU Art Museum—as both are Miami-based and part of the remarkable group of established and emerging exhibiting artists.

Our insider guide for this trip is celebrated curator and writer Claire Breukel. Sharing her time between South Africa and the United States, she has held the role of director at Locust Projects and YES Contemporary, and led the international patron program at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, where she collaborated closely with Kouoh during her tenure. Breukel is currently assisting the team selected by Kouoh to bring the Biennale to life, and earlier this spring, co-curated Crossing the Bridge—Oolite Arts’ alumni exhibition in Miami Beach.

We invite you to discover the official program and unexpected hidden gems with us. Expect a tailored schedule filled with curator- and artist-led tours, private visits, optional excursions and gatherings. There will also be plenty of time to get lost (in the best way) on your own and revisit spaces that personally resonate with you.

In Venice, where nearly everything is accessible by way of scenic walk or water, we are planning for the restorative and generative—an opportunity to engage with diasporic artistic perspectives at a more deliberate pace.

The group is limited to approximately 15 spaces.

What to Expect
Our core group may, at some points, expand with a mix travelers from Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Montreal, and New York. We’re all visitors in this space and on this trip.

On October 6, we’ll gather in the evening for a welcome cocktail. Expect daytime programming from October 7—11 with opportunities to explore or rest at your leisure. While we will do our part to curate a program full of options and activities, we invite you to pace yourself and visit sites that may not be on the program. It’s easy enough to get around Venice, and everyone will have the schedule, locations, and our WhatsApp channel to help us stay connected.
