Artists reimagine our cities. We build communities to support them.
Commissioner brings locals and contemporary artists together in their cities. Every year we combine members’ fees to commission at least four original and limited edition artworks by some of the most gifted contemporary artists of our time, and offer year-round programming such as artist studio visits and collector conversations. Members build their collection with these commissioned works curated by our trusted partners, and we regularly gather as a group to meet artists and learn more about their practice in intimate and delightful settings.
As we approach our seventh season in Miami, we offer the tools, relationships and experiences that help people collect art and support artists on their own terms.

Launched in 2018 in Miami by Dejha Carrington and Rebekah Monson, Commissioner is an art membership program that leverages the collective membership of our community to commission work by local contemporary artists, while providing members with the knowledge, relationships and experiences they need to collect art in more ways.
Our curatorial partners are Primary in Miami and Louis Buhl & Co. in Detroit, and we work with a brilliant team of experts in their fields, including Joanna Davila, Natalia Guzman, Richard Guzman, Maryam Davani Hosseini, Greg Pierre-Louis, and Mariana Pariani, to bring this program to life.
