Our Vision

Artists reimagine our cities. We’re building communities to support them.

Commissioner brings people together to support artists and collect art in their cities.

Every year we combine member fees to commission at least four original and limited edition artworks by some of the most gifted contemporary artists of our time. We also offer year-round programming such as artist studio visits, collector conversations, insider experiences, and travel. Members build their collection with these curated, commissioned works made possible through our collaborative model, and we regularly gather to meet artists and learn more about their creative practice in unexpected and delightful settings.

As we enter our ninth season in Miami—still the longest-running crowdfunding art program in the city—we connect people with the tools, relationships and stories to collect art and support artists on their own terms.

The future of arts patronage is collaborative and community-led.

GET IN TOUCH

Launched in 2018 in Miami by Dejha Carrington and Rebekah Monson, Commissioner is an art membership program that leverages the collective membership of our community to commission work by local contemporary artists, while providing members with the knowledge, relationships and experiences they need to collect art in more ways.

Our curatorial partners are Primary in Miami and Louis Buhl & Co. in Detroit, and we work with a brilliant team of experts in their fields, including Dave Adams, Fania Celestin, Joanna Davila, Fania Celestin, Natalia Duran, Veronica Gort, Richard Guzman, Maryam Davani Hosseini, Jenna Ingraham, Sofia Metcalf, Greg Pierre-Louis, and Mariana Pariani, to bring this program to life.
