We commission artists with professional practices whose work deepens their communities and and our relationships to one another and ourselves. With a focus on experimentation, we take joy in creating models that encourage creative exploration free from market expectations or pressures.

Working with our curatorial partners, we select artists by invitation, emphasizing rigor, community participation, long-term objectives, and career timing in our selection.

We ask ourselves: How will this commission positively impact the artist at this specific time in their practice? How are we inviting fresh conversations and experiences that relate to this moment? How might this project inspire the artist, our communities, and the ways in which we work together?
