SOMETHING FOR ALL OF US.
Join us for our first-ever community commission, a collective memory-keeping project. We invite all current and past members, as well as friends and partners, to participate by making a one-time contribution of $450. Your support not only secures a signed and numbered edition by the artist for you, but also helps make one available for someone else in our community.
In keeping with the elements of surprise and delight—freeing both the supporter and artist from tradition and expectations—the mystery work will be revealed at an inspired community event.
There are 150 works available on a first-come, first-served basis through September 9, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
Please note that artworks displayed here is for illustrative purposes only and does not represent the actual work you will receive. That’s a surprise.
REGINALD O’NEAL: REMEMBERING RAINBOW VILLAGE
Rainbow Village is a housing development in Overtown. Built in the 1970s, the pale gold residential community has been home to many Black families in Miami’s history, including artist Reginald O’Neal’s family. It’s the place where his aunt first met his uncle and where he had his very first kiss.
Now, Rainbow Village is being torn down to make space for something new. O’Neal wondered: how could he commemorate a place that’s held many generations of families through waves of gentrification and five major hurricanes? How do we grieve home? It starts with remembering.
Expanding beyond Commissioner’s annual membership model, this special project invites you to participate with a one-time contribution of $450. In return for your support, both you and a former resident of Rainbow Village will receive a signed and numbered mystery edition by Reginald O’Neal.
How this community commission comes to life:
For every work acquired by a Commissioner member or friend, a second piece will be donated to a former resident of Rainbow Village
All previous and current Patron and Collector members of Seasons One through Eight, and friends of Commissioner, are invited to participate; first come, first served
There are up to 150 works available for a contribution of $450 through September 9, 2025 at 11:59 PM
By making this work for people most directly impacted by the memory of Rainbow Village, we see a future where each one of us is connected to what it represents in this rapidly shifting Miami.
