3:33 | A Procession (Reprise)

We preserve the legacies of these individuals and the countless number of people lost every year to senseless gun violence. Art can create transformative spaces for healing and mobilize community to effect positive change. — Chire “VantaBlack” Regans

A Reflection of the Times is a memorial exhibition by Chire Regans that was on view last May through December at Bakehouse Art Complex. For the closing, Chire and multidisciplinary artist Loni Johnson invited us to honor victims of gun violence and their families in a procession of remembrance. Together we celebrate their lives and the fearless and unflinching love and dedication of the activists, healers, organizers and artists building a future of liberation. We hold the heartbreak of a world breaking open, and are committed to showing up for the justice we know is possible.

Presented by Commissioner in partnership with New World School of the Arts and curated by Anita Sharma of Women Artists Archive Miami. Filmed by Juan Luis Matos and edited by Monica Sorelle of Preguntas Studio. Words inspired by Linke Fligl.
