Kelly Breez (b. 1985, Lake Worth, Fla.) is a Miami-based artist who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New World School of the Arts. Her work chronicles life’s absurdities—particularly in its seedier elements.

For Breez, it’s about finding balance between the humor necessary to navigate a harsh world and the irreverence necessary to survive it.Breez works in painting, illustration, sculpture and installation, with an emphasis on mundane materials. The use of items like wood and epoxy is in part influenced by her experience restoring her father’s sailboat, and has become a nod to all things Florida—“a celebration of the hazy memories found in the pennies, shells and beer caps preserved inside the resin of the many bar-tops you discover throughout the tropics.”
